Sterling Insurance appoints first Scottish Regional Manager

gerard hamilton small.jpgSterling Insurance Group today announces the appointment of Gerard Hamilton to the role of Regional Development Manager, Scotland.

Gerard's role will be to develop Sterling's presence and business opportunities in the Scottish region. He will develop a local panel of brokers for Sterling and work closely with them to drive profitable business growth across the area.

Welcoming the arrival of Gerard to the team, Sterling Insurance Director Personal Lines and Commercial, David Sweeney, said: "We are committed to growing our regional presence, whether through the opening of new offices or through the appointment of individuals focused on a specific region. Listening to the feedback from our brokers, we identified Scotland as an area that has been neglected in terms of insurer presence, and so Gerard's appointment marks our intent to provide brokers north of the border with focused attention from Sterling."

Gerard joins the team from Aviva where he has worked in a variety of sales and underwriting roles since 2001, most recently as Key Partner Account Manager supporting large national brokers and networks as well as independent brokers around the country.

Commenting on his new role, Gerard said: "I am very excited at the prospect of introducing the benefits of working with Sterling Insurance to brokers in Scotland. I have no doubt that our products and award winning claims and service propositions will be warmly received."
